We are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA)

Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him.

Presbyterians are distinctive in two major ways: we adhere to a pattern of religious thought known as Reformed theology and a form of government that stresses the active, representational leadership of both ministers and church members, much like our representative style of government.

First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City has aligned itself with the “Confessing Church Movement”. Below is our Statement of faith from the Confessing Church Movement.

1. Jesus Christ alone is Lord of all, and the way of salvation.

2. Holy Scripture is the Triune (trinity) God's revealed Word, the Church's only infallible rule of faith and life.

3. God's people are called to holiness in all aspects of life. This includes honoring the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, the only relationship within which sexual activity is appropriate.

Our vision and mission is to Discover, Know, and Serve Christ, Together
